Why this role matters

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee and coordinate all aspects of student tenancy at the Education First Youth Foyer at Holmesglen Institute Glen Waverley. The transitions worker will also act as a primary contact for coordination and implementation of transition plans for students pre and post the Foyer program whilst building and maintaining relationships with local real estate agents (and other services) that can offer post-Foyer support if needed.

What we're looking for

We are currently seeking a skilled & passionate individual, someone committed to working with people who are experiencing homelessness, or at risk of homelessness on their journey out of homelessness.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the provision of safe, high-quality accommodation for young people, including managing student dynamics and complex needs.
  • Develop, build and engage with networks and stakeholders such as: Private Rental Access Programs, Real Estate, Finance, Brokerage Options, and other services that lead to improved housing outcomes for young people
  • Ensure that data and information is collected in line with the Foyer evaluation requirements.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, including the complaints handling procedures and methods for responding to critical incidents.
  • Support the management of the day-to-day operations of the Foyer to ensure annual operating plans and key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Support young people to transition in & out of Foyer, including managing tenancy paperwork, Centrelink and Chintaro systems


  • All applicants must have the right to work in Australia and will be required to complete a Working with Children Check and Police check.

  • COVID-19 vaccination or a valid Covid-19 Vaccination Exemption certificate is required to work on site
  • A valid Victorian Driver's License
