At Latrobe Community Health Service you’ll be part of a positive and passionate workplace. We’re dedicated to providing you with career opportunities through work that is rewarding and meaningful within the community.

Addiction Services is a large multidisciplinary unit consisting of Alcohol other Drug (AOD) Treatment Programs; including assessment, counselling, care and recovery coordination, day rehabilitation, non-residential nurse withdrawal, pharmacotherapy, harm reduction and Hepatitis C. We also provide a range of counselling, mental health and gamblers help.

The Non-residential Withdrawal Nurse (NRWN) supports people to safely achieve withdrawal through an abrupt cessation or gradual reducing regime, in coordination with a multi-disciplinary team, including medical services such as hospitals and general practitioners.

The NRWN assists both voluntary and court referred (forensic) clients to cease or reduce AOD use to a level that restores a person’s health and wellbeing in the short term and provides a firm foundation for a person’s longer term improved health and wellbeing. Forming part of an integrated and coordinated care pathway via linkage with the care and recovery coordination and counselling services is an important component of this role.

To be successful, you will require;

  • Certificate IV in Alcohol and other Drugs and Mental Health or completion of core competencies (or willingness to complete in first 12 months).
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • A current Working with Children Check
