Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association is a not-for-profit, member-based, professional association supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical students and doctors. Our purpose is to contribute to equitable health and life outcomes and the cultural well-being of Indigenous people. We do this by working towards reaching population parity of Indigenous medical students and doctors and supporting a culturally safe healthcare system
Essential skills

- Demonstrated awareness of the importance of cultural safety, preferably within the context of the health or education systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing work priorities to deliver quality outcomes within short timeframes and with minimal supervision.
- High level of communication capabilities across a wide range of stakeholders, including:
- medical educators and non-GP specialist trainees; and
- colleges, universities, and other organisations.

- Ability to work cooperatively and flexibly to fulfil individual and team performance goals.

Tasks & responsibilities
- Co-ordinate the successful delivery of AIDA’s Programs including STSP by:
- Oversee daily operations of the program, including recruiting, planning, and tracking of program budget and evaluating activities for positive outcomes.
- Review the program during implementation to ensure activities and services achieve the stated objectives and outcomes.
- Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure quality program delivery and to support all stakeholders and staff as required
- Oversee program logistics provision of program resources and materials, and provide clear direction to admin and other team members
- Liaise with medical colleges and other key stakeholders in terms of program content and delivery.
- Support program governance activities
- Provide reporting and briefings, preparation of papers and presentations
- Develop and implement a program evaluation framework.
- Provide culturally appropriate support service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Specialist trainees.
- Communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples
- Other duties within your capabilities as directed
