The range of services provided by Melbourne Legacy is diverse with the individual needs of the families of veterans being met through professional case management, referral pathways, wellbeing, financial assistance, advocacy and personalised care delivered through a network of dedicated volunteers known as Legatees who are supported by a team of social workers and mental health professionals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Programs Assistant to Support the Programs Team Leader to deliver all of Melbourne Legacy’s support programs, including Youth Camps and Program Days, Widows events and recreation days for our Beneficiaries with a Disability.

The Programs Assistant is responsible for ensuring the coordination, support, and execution of Pre-91 widows’ events. The Programs Coordinator is also responsible for supporting any tasks relating to delivering the post-91 programs, as directed by the Programs Team Leader

key selection criteria

  • Experience with program delivery and the ability to effectively monitor approvals and track expenditure.
  • Ability to work in a manner that promotes a safe and supportive work environment which respects the dignity, rights and choices of all beneficiaries and families, Legatees, peers, and other professionals.
  • Compliance with organisational policies, procedures, government legislation and codes of conduct.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and decision making.
  • Capability to work autonomously and as a member of an effective team, including networking capacity with a wide range of Government department and ex-service organisations.
  • Experience in use of Salesforce or similar Beneficiary Relationship Management software.
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office package. High level planning and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, suitable for a range of stakeholders and situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, including working within the provided case management framework and Melbourne Legacy processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Undertake national police check and a working with children check.
  • You will be required to have been vaccinated for influenza.
