    Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.

    About you

    At Legal Aid NSW we are transforming our hiring approach that includes building and delivering a new recruitment model.

    As Manager Talent Acquisition, you will lead the delivery of strategic end-to-end recruitment and onboarding that will attract and retain top talent, improve organisational capability, encourage internal career mobility, will be efficient, contemporary and business outcome focused while maintaining the highest level of customer engagement. 

    We are looking for someone to lead and develop a team of talent acquisition professionals. You will partner closely with the business in identifying, attracting and onboarding talent to efficiently and effectively meet evolving and changing organisational needs, while ensuring alignment with our talent, culture, organisational development and diversity strategies.

    You will design and implement innovative talent acquisition solutions and services. We are seeking someone who is willing and motivated to work with our team to continually improve the way we deliver our services - through process redesign through to the use of new technology.

    You will be highly motivated and an experienced talent acquisition leader who thrives on the challenge of driving organisational change. You will balance strategic and operational responsibilities, and are comfortable in leading and delivering innovative and strategic talent acquisition solutions whilst working in a busy environment with competing demands and a climate of significant change.

    You have strong relationship building skills, with superior communication and influencing skills and demonstrated ability to identify and lead key talent acquisition initiatives to support the business in optimising their workforce in attracting, selecting and hiring high calibre candidates.

    We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.

    The essential requirements for this role

    You must:

    • Have tertiary qualifications in human resources management or related fields, or equivalent relevant experience in Human Resources
    • Have proven extensive experience in leading and delivering innovative talent acquisition services to improve service delivery in a large and dynamic organisation.
    • Have proven expertise in the application of related NSW legislation, employment rules and practices.
    • Have knowledge and experience in computerised human resources management systems (preferably SAP and Taleo), conditions of employment, awards and employment legislation.
    • Have ability to balance implementation of significant change with business-as-usual delivery.
    • Be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and/or Working with Children Check
    • Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies)
