The National LGBTI Health Alliance is the national peak health organisation in Australia for organisations and individuals that provide health-related programs, services and research focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people (LGBTI) and other sexuality, gender, and bodily diverse people and communities.
The Alliance works in partnership with organisations across Australia to deliver programs across suicide prevention (MindOUT), ageing and aged care (Silver Rainbow) and anonymous, LGBTI peer support and referral (QLife) and in disability (EmployableQ).
Reporting to the Programs Coordination and Capacity Building Manager, this position will provide coordination and development of the Alliance’s National Palliative Care Project. Leading a small team, this exciting new role will map and explore General Practitioners’ and Practice Nurses’ current understanding of LGBTI communities’ needs and health outcomes to ensure safe and effective palliative care services are provided to LGBTI communities.
Additionally, a need analysis will be conducted with LGBTI communities to ascertain their knowledge of available Palliative Care, services and resources. The two key outcomes of this role are to oversee the design and roll out of e-module learning for GPs and Practice Nurses and to raise awareness of safe palliative care services and resources available to LGBTI communities.
