The dietetic department is seeking a passionate, caring, and dedicated senior dietitian who aligns with our Founder’s vision of creating a collaborative environment in which, respect, discovery, empowerment, and nurture thrive in the interests of our patients. 

Your daily duties will include:

  • Planning, leading, delivering and evaluating the nutritional care of inpatients and outpatients (particularly in those having complex surgeries) including conducting comprehensive nutrition assessment, planning, and implementing appropriate nutrition intervention and providing education and counselling to patients and their carers.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary, allied health and dietetic team workflows.
  • Working with the food service provider to support the provision of safe, high-quality meals.
  • Clinical supervision of other dietitians
  • Teaching and education activities
  • Leading service, quality improvement initiatives and research

Selection criteria - To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Eligibility for full APD membership with the Dietitians Association of Australia
  • At least 4 year’s post graduate experience in an acute hospital setting with at least 18 months in gastro-intestinal surgery or comparable
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision to other dietitian/s.
  • Demonstrated experience in student supervision
  • Demonstrated experience in and engagement with Quality Improvement activities and accreditation preparedness.
  • Demonstrated commitment to own professional development
