About the role

As a Family Contact Worker, you will be required to provide mentoring to children and young people, this may include taking them out in the community for activities such as recreational sporting. You may also be required to transport them to and from school and Family Time Visits, while providing adequate supervision for the children and young people during visits. The shift pattern is across 7 days and will including morning shifts, afternoons/evenings, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and facilitate Family time between the child or young person and the family members
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the child or young person and those participating in the visit.
  • Establish rapport and provided support to children and young people
  • Provide transportation to all areas as needed
  • Access rostering and shift information through email

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in relative field or similar, or relevant experience and skills to undertake the position with the desire to complete relevant qualifications.
  • Experience in the Early Childhood, Education, Welfare or Community Services Sector
  • Unrestricted Drivers Licence
  • Your own fully insured vehicle, child lock system and capacity to secure Car seats and Boosters as per Australian Standards
  • Current First Aid Certificate
