At Risk Youth Accommodation (ARYA) is a service in Belmont that provides overnight crisis accommodation for young people aged 14 - 17 years old who are at risk of homelessness. The purpose of the service is to provide a safe environment for the young person when their placement has broken down or are in transitional care.
We are looking for Youth Workers who have demonstrated experience working with at-risk young people who may display behaviours of concern including aggression, self-harm and alcohol and drug use. The purpose of the Youth Worker role is to provide a safe and caring environment, assist the young person to de-escalate and regulate their emotions and when required, help to develop independent living skills while in the care of the service.
The service is open overnight from 4pm until 11am the following day.
07:00am – 11:00am
16:00pm – 22:30pm
22:00pm – 07:00am (awake shift required)
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exemption certificate. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Department of Child Protection DCP395 and Working with Children Check.
