WHO ARE WE?

Lighthouse Foundation provides homes and therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse, and homelessness. Our focus is to create caring communities where kids can feel safe, form meaningful relationships, and begin to heal from traumatic experiences. For the past 30 years, our proven Model of Care has successfully transformed the lives of over 1,000 young people using a range of evidence-based strategies. We now educate and support Foster Carers in the same way, so that they too can take care of some of Australia’s most vulnerable children.

HOW WILL I HELP?

Reporting to, and working closely with, the Head of Philanthropy & Bequests, Lighthouse’s Philanthropy Manager will focus on implementing innovative plans to cultivate, nurture, steward and inspire donors to drive growth in higher-value gifts to support Lighthouse Foundation’s programs.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

First and foremost, interpersonal skills are a must, with a level of maturity and understanding needed when working with those who use and support our services.

From a professional standpoint you will require:

• Previous experience motivating donors, philanthropists, and high-net-worth individuals, and have success at securing high value strategic partnerships
• Understanding of relationship-based fundraising, development, sponsorship, or sales
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to garner support from a variety of stakeholders
• Outstanding listening skills will be one of your strengths
• Strong understanding of prospect research and social impact measurements
• Ability to produce impactful proposals and donor communication
• Skill at putting together and presenting - storytelling that inspires
• Growth mindset, with advanced strategic thinking
• Proficiency in budget forecasting and monitoring

Other key skills which would be desirable:

• Demonstrated experience in similar roles
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma informed practice

• Current Working with Children check
