Are you passionate about community impact and relationship building? We're seeking a dynamic professional to spearhead our fundraising efforts, driving engagement and revenue growth in support of our life-changing programs.

WHO ARE WE?

Lighthouse Foundation provides homes and therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse, and homelessness. Our focus is to create caring communities where kids can feel safe, form meaningful relationships, and begin to heal from traumatic experiences. For the past 30 years, our proven Model of Care has successfully transformed the lives of over 1,000 young people using a range of evidence-based strategies. We now educate and support Foster Carers in the same way, so that they too can take care of some of Australia’s most vulnerable children.

HOW WILL I HELP?

Forge impactful partnerships with schools, businesses, and community groups to drive fundraising initiatives. Coordinate and grow major fundraising projects, leveraging diverse networks and platforms. Serve as a passionate advocate for Lighthouse, inspiring donors through public speaking engagements and outreach efforts.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

First and foremost, interpersonal skills are a must, with a level of maturity and understanding needed when working with those who use and support our services.

From a professional standpoint you will require:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Confident in public speaking.
  • Effective time management and prioritisation.
  • Demonstrated fundraising experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Skilled in event organisation, campaign management, and donor engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development and organisational values.
  • Other key skills which would be desirable:
  • 2+ years’ experience in community fundraising.
  • Proficient in communication and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of local community dynamics and mobilisation strategies.
  • Skilled in identifying collaboration opportunities and driving community-driven initiatives.
  • Experience with fundraising and database platforms like Blackbaud, Funraisin, and Shout for Good.
  • Ability to develop complex supporter journeys and engagement plans.
  • Sound knowledge of fundraising best practices.
  • Extensive network, particularly within schools, for partnership opportunities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in achieving fundraising targets.
  • Understanding of school structures and key stakeholders for community engagement.
  • Some experience in digital marketing or communications.
  • Proficiency in business development, key account, and relationship management.

For this role you will please note you will also need:

  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant/associated field
  • Current driver’s license
  • Criminal Records check
  • Current Working with Children check
