ABOUT US

Lighthouse Foundation provides homes and therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse and homelessness. Our focus is to create caring communities where kids can feel safe, form meaningful relationships and begin to heal from traumatic experiences.

For the past 30 years, our proven Model of Care has successfully transformed the lives of over 1,000 young people using a range of evidence-based strategies. We now educate and support Foster and Kinship Carers in the same way, so that they too can take care of some of Australia’s most vulnerable children.

THE POSITION

The Family Support Team Leader position is a unique opportunity to be part of Lighthouse Foundation’s new and innovative Family Support program (commenced in 2023) which provides therapeutic case management and supports to children and young people 0-18 years living in kinship/kith care, or who are involved in family reunification and preservation.

The role offers the opportunity to lead a team of thoughtful and passionate Therapeutic Case Managers and Therapeutic Carers, in line with the Lighthouse Model of Care, ensuring children and families receive case management, therapeutic support, and participate in a thoughtful and caring community.

The role will lead service delivery, people management, and ensure best practice and quality services. Our promise is to provide our carers and their families with the genuine therapeutic care, sense of community and a circle of support they need. A key feature to this program is our ‘Hub Home’ model which is a central place where carers and young people have a place they can come together to create a sense of belonging and community.

The Hub Home is a place to provide a space for children and young people, and allow carers to have a break, as well as host regular activities and events year-round. This model helps to create a ‘village’ of extended support for each child, allowing them to develop positive, healthy attachments with adults who care about their safety and wellbeing. Lighthouse believes this strong sense of community will help to improve the overall stability in placements, continuity in care, and gives carers the quality, tangible support they need to thrive.
