WASH Systems Coordinator

Live & Learn Environmental Education
  • Join a team that’s supporting water, sanitation and hygiene in the Pacific community.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic WASH Coordinator to join our team. Your skills and experience in project administration, management of stakeholder relationships and monitoring and evaluation will contribute to the timely delivery of quality projects with meaningful impacts for vulnerable communities across the Pacific Islands and beyond.

YOU ARE PERFECT FOR THIS ROLE IF:

  • You are committed to localising development and ‘doing development differently’. You are innovative, cross-disciplinary and are committed to keeping up to date with new ways of working.
  • You are comfortable working in the context of rapid change and can adapt to emerging challenges of programme implementation.
  • You show leadership and initiative, can manage complex workloads independently but are also collaborative and a rapport builder.
  • Your communication skills and experience with digital tools allow you to work with others even though they may not be in the same office as you.
  • You have four or more years of experience working in the development sector working on the implementation of projects in the Pacific and are familiar with the cultural contexts of Pasifika communities.
  • You have previously been responsible for reporting, work planning, budgeting and monitoring and evaluation.
  • You understand principles of community development practice, and you demonstrate an understanding of climate change adaptation and/or Water, Hygiene and Sanitation.

WHAT THIS OPPORTUNITY WOULD MEAN TO YOU:

  • You will be part of successful community-led programmes working within the Pacific to provide WASH services.
  • Each day will present unique challenges and rewards, both big and small.
  • You will contribute to the localisation of development and support the organisation’s vision of sustainable and community-led development.
  • You will develop your own career and skills alongside a growing organisation.

WHAT A DAY WORKING WITH US MIGHT INVOLVE:

  • Managing work package collaboration through our management platform, actively tracking and documenting activities while adhering to project reporting requirements.
  • Supporting the co-ordination of activities in the Pacific and monitoring/managing workplans.
  • Collaborating with the finance department to manage budgets, including drafting, forecasting, checking expenditures and working on budget variations and reporting.
  • Identifying, managing and escalating any issues to the program management unit to be resolved, minimising any impact on program and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that Live & Learn approaches and tools are being used in project implementation.
  • Collaborating with the Knowledge and Learning team to develop educational resources for projects.
  • Providing technical WASH advice to teams and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Operationalising the MERL process, tracking and reporting achievements against indicators.
  • Supporting monthly program management unit meetings, quarterly country reflections and donor updates.
  • Improving the GEDSI strategy, so that our offices can monitor inclusivity of their activities and their impact among diverse groups.
  • Overseeing the application of Live & Learn’s environmental, health and safety, fraud management, safeguarding and child protection policies across the program.
