POSITION PURPOSE

The Special Projects Manager is a new position. It has been created to support the delivery of a range of exciting new patient centred projects.

This role will work with the CEO and Nurse Clinical Lead to deliver a diverse array of projects, from new patient information materials, a new tele-support service for people with primary liver cancer, our national conference, and other ad hoc projects that arise as the impact of the Liver Foundation continues to build.

BACKGROUND

Liver disease impacts one in three Australians. There is a great deal to do in increasing awareness of the 100 liver conditions among the general community and the clinical community. Liver Foundation is the peak body covering all liver and hepato-biliary diseases in Australia. We are a national charity aimed at reducing the impact of liver disease for all people in Australia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Support Program Creation – This role will provide project management support on a new Specialist Tele-Support Program for people affected by primary liver cancer. This will include assisting the CEO and Nurse Clinical Lead with community consultation, service design including policy and procedures, technology and other aspects of service implementation and project management of the new patient information that will be required.

Patient Information Resources – Assist with the development of new patient information materials and resources, ensuring they are delivered within budget and in line with our editorial guidelines, inclusive and useful for the diversity of patients and carers in our community.

Annual Conference – Liver Foundation run an annual conference in WA with 120 attendees. This role will take on the project management of the event, working with the Director responsible for creating the program.

Health promotion and communication – There are a number of projects that this role will assist with, including the regular newsletter, social media postings, website content reviews and updates and the like.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We require a well-rounded project and stakeholder manager, who thrives working independently with minimal supervision and is passionate about the opportunity to develop and grow the Liver Foundation.

  • Experienced project manager with at least 5 years’ experience delivering a range of projects.
  • Extensive stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Skilled communicator across all channels.
  • Proven experience in successfully delivering projects with multiple stakeholders including volunteers and senior professionals.
  • Experience in fundraising and securing and managing sponsorships in a charity environment.
  • Experience in delivering information materials in the health or community sector.
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and outgoing team player.
  • Experience in community engagement with consumers and professional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating projects and programs.
  • Very strong ethical, moral values and ability to act with high integrity.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work in a fluid and ambiguous work environment.
  • Ability to solve new problems and ability to stay calm and bring curiosity in the face of uncertainty.
  • Attention to detail and comfortable with recording data in prescribed ways.
  • Experience working in a range of IT systems and a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the effective use of data to improve the quality an effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Willingness to travel.

Ideal:

  • Experience in health promotion project management and delivery.
  • Experience with inclusive design principles and working with diverse communities.
