Living Positive Victoria’s mission is to enable and empower all people affected by and living with HIV to be part of a response that seeks an end to the HIV epidemic.

LPV is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Board vacancy in the role of Associate Director – Finance.

A strong and effective board will keep people living with HIV at the forefront of the response. This requires a dedicated team to align with the vision of the organisation to see a world where people living with HIV live their lives to their full potential, in good health and free from discrimination.

Beyond ensuring the good governance of the organisation, directors play a significant role overseeing the implementation of our 2023-2028 Strategic Plan as well as supporting staff, volunteers and stakeholders through new opportunities and challenges as we advocate for the health and wellbeing of the HIV community in Victoria.

Position Description: Associate Director – Finance

Position Summary: The Associate Director – Finance at Living Positive Victoria (LPV) is a crucial voluntary role focusing on enhancing financial management and sustainability, working in collaboration with the Treasurer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate to develop financial strategies.
  • Guide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Manage financial risks with the Treasurer.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and governance.
  • Enhance organisational financial management.
  • Foster financial support relationships.
  • Assist in financial reporting to the Board.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial management, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software.

Time Commitment:

  • Active participation in Board and Finance Committee meetings.
  • Availability for ongoing consultations.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports to the Board President and works with the Treasurer.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid, combining remote work and occasional in-person meetings.

Other Requirements:

  • May require occasional travel for meetings or events. (The board will meet the costs of any travel required.)
  • Note : this is a voluntary role
