About the role

Based in our Spring Hill office, we are looking for a passionate and energetic Family Counsellor to join our Breakthrough For Families (BFF) team on a part-time basis, working 6 days a fortnight.

Reporting to the Team Leader of the Breakthrough for Families, you will utilise a community development approach to proactively engage with families to deliver BFF groups, public workshops, seminars and forums to connect with families and the broader community. This will also include brief individual support sessions with families stemming from direct referrals and outreach contact.

You will also

• Plan logistics of delivering public Information Sessions, and facilitate therapeutic and psycho-educational sessions for families and carers
• Provide counselling and time-limited brief support to families and carers, using evidence-based family inclusive practice principles, working with clients to develop, implement and review individual goals and discharge plans
• Proactively network with community services and engage in promotion in the community to drive referrals
• Be flexible and willing to travel through the South and North Brisbane areas/region for outreach service delivery as required

The full-time salary range for is $72,361.00 to $77,854.00 per year (pro-rata for part time). We are fortunate that our employees can also access $18,540 salary packaging which increases your take home pay.

What you will bring to the role:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Clinician with Tertiary qualifications in a related area/health services discipline and/or equivalent experience. Additionally:

• Applied knowledge in family/AOD counselling practice and case management or the ability to acquire.
• Experience in developing and delivering therapeutic groups sessions with high-level group facilitation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, and manage own workload.
• Highly developed communication and community engagement skills.
• Knowledge of the local region is highly desirable.
• Hold a Blue Card (or ability to apply).
• Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
