Western Sydney MRC (WS MRC) is seeking to employ a Specialised & Intensive Services Project Coordinator for a Parental leave cover.

ABOUT US

Western Sydney Migrant Resource Centre (WS MRC) is headquartered in Liverpool and supports newly arrived migrants and refugees. The organisation empowers diverse communities to connect, communicate and contribute.

WS MRC provides a range of wrap-around programs supporting our core settlement services. These include family services, playgroups, disability and health supports, youth activities and a variety of other information-based advisory and community leadership programs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The SIS Project Coordinator will support newly arrived migrants and refugees, building capacity and promoting positive changes among individuals and families who may be facing barriers to settlement and participation in local life. This includes the provision of intensive case management support to refugee clients facing multiple and complex challenges.

  • This role will be at SCHADS Level 4 to 5 (depending on experience) with salary sacrifice options available.
  • The position is negotiable for 30.4 hrs – 38 hrs per week.
  • The position is until 30th September 2025 with a possibility of extension.

THE SIS Project Coordinator IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • Delivery of intensive case management support to migrants and refugees experience multiple and complex needs.
  • Conducting in-depth needs assessments.
  • Developing and implementing case management plans.
  • Providing in-person support, orientation and training for clients to engage with Australian services and systems and assisting client’s skills development.
  • Identifying and advocating for the needs of clients and the wider CALD community.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and development of organisational practices and service delivery.
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensuring administrative requirements are upheld and met within their work.
  • Supporting teamwork within the WSMRC – both within the Settlement Support Team and more broadly.
  • The Project Coordinator will demonstrate appropriate ethics, values and behaviours and contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive WSMRC workplace culture, so that the organisation is able to provide quality services to meet the needs of migrants, refugees and culturally and linguistically diverse groups

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an experienced, well-qualified professional to join our team.

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work or Psychology is essential for this role
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in working with clients where there are complex needs, such as disability, domestic violence, mental health crisis, and experience in child protection.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse language, religious, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, in report writing and in advocacy for client needs.
  • Understanding of social and settlement issues affecting refugees and CALD communities living in South Western Sydney.
  • Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills alongside skill and experience in utilising electronic databases.
  • Current unrestricted NSW driver’s license.
  • Able to supply a Working with Children’s Check and suitable Police Clearance
  • Proven effective written and verbal communication skills in a community language
  • Access to own vehicle
  • Experience with Microsoft365
