Our North Melbourne hospital and clinic provides a broad range of veterinary and emergency services to the community of Melbourne and its surrounds, and our Campbellfield Adoption Centre is a vet clinic and shelter, rehoming surrendered animals.

About you

You’re passionate about health and safety and perform strongly in a fast-paced environment. You have excellent communication skills, a friendly, positive attitude with confidence to engage with staff across all levels and areas, building positive relationships and trust. You have the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, adaptable in your style and work with a consultative approach.

You’re results driven, solutions orientated and able to formulate, articulate and deliver projects to a high degree. You’re hard-working and determined, used to working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You are an independent worker who is able to problem-solve and process information quickly.

About the role

In this role it is required that you will work across both sites, delivering key projects including:

  • Finalising OH&S system review, including standards, policies and procedures and supporting systems, ensuring that all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and standards are met and understood by leadership
  • Identifying and implementing reporting metrics and template reporting
  • Reviewing, documenting and reengaging effective consultation on OHS issues through the Health and Safety Committee, Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) and other relevant stakeholders, providing executive support, specialist advice and information
  • Reviewing, updating and rolling out mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance
  • Supporting initiatives to help manage psychosocial risks in the workplace

You will have:

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workplace psychosocial risks and hazards and the prevention, management and review of appropriate controls.
  • Demonstrated experience with Information System/OHS/Risk or other database software
