Love Mercy Foundation is a non-profit organisation that seeks to empower communities in remote northern Uganda. We see communities thriving independently by increasing access to health care, education, clean water food security and income generation.

Role Description

As Treasurer you will work closely with the CEO and other Board Directors to ensure the organisation’s finances are effectively and efficiently managed. This is a volunteer-based role, and the successful candidate will be expected to commit to a minimum 3-year term.

The Treasurer will play a crucial role in ensuring the organisations finances and reporting are at the highest level.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the organisation's finances with integrity and transparency.
• Develop and oversee budgets, financial reports, and projections.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.

• Collaborate with the board to make strategic financial decisions.

• Maintain accurate financial records and provide timely updates to the board.

Qualifications

This role requires a highly organised, confident, and professional individual who brings:

• A relevant degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• 5 years’ experience working in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience within the not-for-profit sector preferred, but not essential.
