Voices of Mackellar is looking for people to join our 2025 management committee. Established in 2020, we aim to help people in the Mackellar electorate on Sydney's Northern Beaches to be well informed and engaged citizens in their democracy. We do this through events (community consultations, online events, Q&A's and forums with local MPs and election candidates) and regular communications (newsletters and socials). We are a registered not for profit association and not aligned to any political party, individual election candidate or representative.

We are looking for a person to fill the position of Media & Communications Coordinator on our management committee.
The Media & Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating engaging content on social media and subscriber newsletters to increase awareness of the organisation and engagement with our events and educational resources.
This roles is important for ensuring Voices of Mackellar stays on track to achieve its objectives for the year particularly for planned events. The role requires up to 2-3 hours per week.

Voices of Mackellar is looking for enthusiastic people with a 'can do' attitude who are share our passion for helping people in Mackellar to engage with their democracy in a non partisan way.
Whilst no formal experience is required to join our Committee, being familiar with Gmail, Google Drive applications, Zoom and Whatsapp will be helpful at the start.
The Media & Communications Coordinator should ideally be familiar with social media channels, some content creation platforms (eg Canva) and have good verbal and written communication skills
Most committee meetings are online and held every 2-4 weeks on weekday evenings for your convenience. We also know that our Management Committee members also have work and family commitments that this volunteer role needs to fit around.
It is desirable but not essential that applicants live in the federal seat of Mackellar on Sydney’s northern beaches.
