The position

The role of Therapeutic House Managers are key positions across Marist180. They not only support the needs of children and young people in our programs, but also act as a support network for our staff to ensure they are trained and armed with the right tools to create positive change through a therapeutic intervention framework and guided by principles of permanency planning.

You will be responsible for:

  • Rostering and staffing needs, administrative tasks.
  • Handling petty cash accounts.
  • Supporting staff through reflective supervision, daily guidance and strategic long-term goal setting as well as training and coaching.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain and promote collaborative working relationships as a member of the Care Team.

The candidate

As a direct influence of our successful application to deliver the ITC contract, we are seeking an experienced, dynamic and proactive individual to join our team and help make a difference in the lives of both our staff and the clients we work with. For this position, as a minimum you must possess:

  • A relevant Bachelor in Social Work, Human Services or similar; or working towards a Bachelor with a completed relevant diploma already.
  • Experience working with children and young people experiencing complex trauma and families within the child protection system and in a residential setting.
  • Demonstrated training in trauma related training.
  • Strong background in leading and supporting staff, as well as the ability to manage and recruit staff.
  • Sound communication skills and experience liaising with key stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams.

Work Requirements:

  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Clear National Criminal History Check.
  • Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence. If you have a foreign driver’s licence, you are required by the NSW Government to obtain an NSW Driver's Licence by 1 March 2025.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Provide M180 consent to complete a verification of the Residential Care Workers Register managed by the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
