The Quality and Policy Officer supports the provision of quality services to vulnerable young people and their families by developing the policies and processes by which we provide client-facing services and verifying that those policies and processes are integrated across the organisation.

This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining organisational and program specific policies and procedural documentation. This position will involve working closely with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.

about the role

Primary accountabilities of the role of Quality and Policy Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Support and contribute to the tendering and roll-out of Marist180 programs by developing policies and procedures that guide service delivery and related internal functions.
  • Review and update organisational policies and procedures to ensure alignment with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
  • Undertake research into best practices and consult with internal and external stakeholders during policy/procedure development.
  • Schedule and complete regular reviews of all policies and procedures.
  • Subject matter expert for the organisations policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on compliance with regulations and internal controls across a range of Marist180 programs, including highlighting potential breaches of contract or areas of unmanaged compliance risk.
  • Undertake a program of compliance audits to ensure policies & procedures are applied in practice.
  • Provide support and coordination for external audits and accreditations.
  • Maintain Contracts Register and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Develop program specific forms and resources consistent with policies and procedures.
  • Provide support with program performance measurement.
  • Assist in project initiatives as they arise.

about you

The qualification, experience and skills required demonstrate success within their role.

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field is desirable.
  • Significant experience in drafting policy and procedural documents.
  • High standard of written and spoken communication skills.
  • Prior experience in OOHC sector or youth/child protection services.
  • Qualifications relating to legal services, compliance and auditing.
  • Experience in consulting with key stakeholders in the development of procedural documents.
  • Experience in undertaking audits of service delivery practices and procedures against defined assessment criteria.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and prompting a culture of continuous improvement.

Work Requirements:

  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Clear National Criminal History Check.
  • Unrestricted NSW driver’s licence. If you have a foreign driver’s licence, you are required by the NSW Government to obtain an NSW Driver's Licence by 1 March 2025.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.

Immediate availability is preferred.
