The Chief of Staff is a new position at Market Forces, created to support our growing team to get the most out of our work while we continue to develop as individuals and professionals. The role will work closely with our Executive Director and Operations Coordinator to ensure the running of Market Forces is smooth and well-coordinated. Day to day you'll be helping us problem solve, manage risk and organise so we can stay focused on delivering our ambitious campaign agenda. You'll also be helping reinforce and foster a culture that balances hard work, determination and success with compassion, care and support, and our desire to continue to be more capable, skilled campaigners.
We are a nine year old organisation that exists to shift finance away from activities that damage the environment, and towards those that protect and enhance it. We focus on the role that banks, superannuation funds and other investors, insurance companies and governments play in financing environmentally risky and damaging activities. We strongly focus on climate change and the essential energy revolution the world needs to undertake if we are to secure a stable long-term climate. Our team delivers and supports campaigns on the most egregious examples of fossil fuel polluters, extending that support to partners in Asia and beyond, wherever we can make the best interventions to shift finance away from dirty fossil fuels.
You make people better. You make people more effective. You make people more confident. You make teams more efficient. You make communications better between individuals and across teams, replacing complexity and wasted time with ease, simplicity and clarity. You juggle competing interests. You have a keen eye for spotting risks coming over the horizon and eliminating them before they even get close. You take pride in seeing the people you support become better at their jobs and enjoying the confidence that comes with that growth.
A few things in particular we're looking for:
It would be beneficial if you have experience working in a non-government or advocacy-focused organisation.
