The organisation also maintains a client information database; you will advise and collaborate with the service delivery managers and the Operations Manager on projects related to maintenance and development of that database but you will not be required to maintain it.

  • advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • high level interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and a friendly disposition
  • strong administration and organisational skills
  • exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • ability to manage multiple projects with changing and short deadlines
  • superior editing and proofreading skills for proposals, appeals, stewardship reports and organisational reporting

Experience using a CRM/fundraising database integrated with accounting and/or fundraising software, and experience collaborating on software integration projects will be highly regarded.

A relevant tertiary qualification, more than three years’ experience in data management and experience working in a not for profit will all be highly regarded.

About Mary’s House Services and the role

This role reports to the Philanthropy and Communications Manager and has an advisory function to the Operations Manager regarding our client information database. Our income is primarily from private philanthropists, local community members, local organisations, trusts, and foundations. Mary’s House Services is also supported by generous volunteers and pro bono partners. We are a member of the Fundraising Institute of Australia. Maintaining accurate data about our valued supporters and partners, and compliance with Australian privacy standards is a priority.

Our goals include delivering a high-quality refuge service, casework service, and therapeutic and wellbeing programs for women and children.

Mary’s House Services is a wonderful example of what a community can achieve when it identifies a gap in services and a desperate need for community support. We are a grass roots organisation, providing quality services for women and children who have experienced domestic or family violence. We offer safety, hope, and empowerment for women and children to rebuild their lives.

Established in 2016 as an independent not-for-profit, we innovate to provide support services in response to community needs. Through Mary’s House refuge, the Daisy Centre, and other services, we offer professional support, accommodation, case management services and therapeutic groups to women, while they navigate options before, during and after leaving an abusive relationship.

Benefits of working at Mary’s House

  • your wellbeing is a priority
  • work at our Crows Nest office, walking distance from buses and trains, or mainly work from home once oriented to the role, with visits to the workplace when required
  • salary will be based on the SCHCADS (Social Community Home Care and Disability Services) award and be commensurate with experience and responsibilities
  • additional leave at Christmas
  • NFP salary packaging – increases your take home pay
  • work with colleagues who value respect, compassion, generosity, hope and safety
  • you will be part of an organisation supported by a generous community of local supporters
  • connection with your frontline colleagues so you are closely linked with our work for women and children’s safety
