This role will provide social media, communications and administration support to the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (DAAF) Foundation, our Indigenous Fashion Projects and other events, programs and services.
It’s a diverse, busy position that ranges from the exciting (like capturing on-the-fly content at events), through to thoughtful crafting of content (for audiences from sophisticated art collectors to aspiring fashionistas), to administrative tasks like collating data, keeping records and customer service.
This is an ideal opportunity for First Nations story tellers and aspiring social media mavens. Through DAAF Foundation’s channels, you’ll be sharing stories of Country, art, design and culture from across our diverse community of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Centres, artists and designers.
You’ll be working with a small, highly skilled and versatile team who will help you develop your knowledge and abilities to manage the day to day content and administration of our social media channels, and support our PR and media activities.
If you are keen to learn, social media savvy, and have skills like graphic design/ copywriting / photography / videography, we’d love to hear from you!
You’ll be joining a sector-leading, high profile Indigenous cultural organisation with a warm, talented and supportive team and a respectful and inclusive workplace culture. It’s exciting, challenging and rewarding!
The Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation (DAAF Foundation) is a not-for-profit Indigenous organisation representing over 80 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Centres and Peak Bodies. We celebrate the rich cultural and artistic diversity of Indigenous Australia through art, fashion, and textiles.
Our flagship events all happen across six days in August each year - the renowned Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair (in Darwin and online), the National Indigenous Fashion Awards (NIFA) and Country to Couture Runway.
A range of associated events include the DAAF Opening Ceremony, the Public Program of artists talks, masterclasses and performances, and the Cultural Keepers Program for Indigenous curators. Throughout the year, our Indigenous Fashion Projects include grass-roots sector development and showcases at Australian Fashion Week.
We value passion, commitment and achieving real outcomes for First Nations Art Centres and their artists, and fashion and textiles designers.
