About Us:

McCall Services provides high quality and individually supportive services for people with a disability including respite, supported accommodation, short-term accommodation, community participation and support coordination in a variety of settings across Northwest Sydney.

About your role:

The Practice Lead- Shine Shed and Recreation Groups is to provide participants with opportunities, quality support and services to develop or re-develop skills, build confidence, and reconnect with the community. Program participation aims to support people to develop independent living skills and community interaction. The Practice Lead- Shine Shed and Recreation Groups encourages the independence and engagement of participants in valued social roles within the centre and the community.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree level qualification or Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle (preferred) or equivalent.
  • High level of customer service skills including duty of care responsibilities to the public.
  • Demonstrated ability in the areas of time management, working autonomously and within a team, organisation, initiative, problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager concerning any matter relevant to the operation and management of the facility.
  • Ensure all day-to-day produce is available.
  • Designing and implementing individual and group activities that engage with residents’ interests and desires, supporting and empowering residents to use and develop their skills and abilities.
  • Evaluating program effectiveness, making changes and improvements as appropriate.
  • Quality presentation of the facility.
  • Sound knowledge of the provisions of the Health Act, Regulations and By-Laws applying to the operation of a food and beverage outlet.
  • Sound knowledge of the safety procedures and requirements for the handling of hazardous chemicals.
  • Passion for supporting the human rights of people with a disability and a focus on quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to meet service requirements in terms of employment equity and diversity, WH & S, ethical practice and the Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation module.
