More about the role:

The Clinical Leader, First Nations will provide support and mentoring for McGrath Nurses to enhance the delivery of care.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partnering with the Nursing Program Team to ensure consistency of information and support for nurses
  • Providing specialist knowledge for Foundation team members and the Nursing Program Team
  • Providing clinical knowledge and support (monitoring and mentoring) to McGrath Nurses
  • Providing insights into the program processes and opportunities for efficiency improvements

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for someone with a mix of the following experience and skills:

  • Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander heritage
  • Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and experiences, particularly in relation to health care and cultural sensitivities
  • Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in rural settings, including experience with referral pathways and Aboriginal communities / health cooperatives
  • Recent clinical experience with respect to management of people with cancer or other chronic diseases
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop content for professional development courses by collating relevant research
