More about the role:
The Clinical Leader, First Nations will provide support and mentoring for McGrath Nurses to enhance the delivery of care.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Partnering with the Nursing Program Team to ensure consistency of information and support for nurses
- Providing specialist knowledge for Foundation team members and the Nursing Program Team
- Providing clinical knowledge and support (monitoring and mentoring) to McGrath Nurses
- Providing insights into the program processes and opportunities for efficiency improvements
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone with a mix of the following experience and skills:
- Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander heritage
- Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and experiences, particularly in relation to health care and cultural sensitivities
- Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in rural settings, including experience with referral pathways and Aboriginal communities / health cooperatives
- Recent clinical experience with respect to management of people with cancer or other chronic diseases
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop content for professional development courses by collating relevant research
