The opportunity:

The Centre for Health Analytics is an exciting collaborative venture for the Melbourne Children’s campus partners – the Royal Children’s Hospital, The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and the University of Melbourne.

The Centre has been created to support the vision of Melbourne Children’s to become an internationally leading paediatric campus in the use of data to improve all aspects of patient care, operations, education, and research. The Centre has received generous financial support from the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and the University of Melbourne has funded a foundation position of Professor of Child Health Informatics who will work closely with the Centre. The Data Services Lead will be responsible for data service stream of work at the Centre for Health Analytics. The successful candidate will oversee the Centre’s sprint framework and continuously improve our delivery of data services. You will be responsible for resource scheduling and the reporting required by the Data Services Team to internal and external stakeholders. You will be part of the Centre’s Leadership Team to ensure our planned annual objectives are achieved.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Day to day management of the Data Services stream of work
  • Coordinating the data projects and their interdependencies
  • Participate in the Centre for Health Analytics Stream Leadership Team and play a core role in determining the strategic direction for the Centre
  • Manage the sprint framework used by the Data Services team to deliver data service requests
  • Continuously improve the sprint framework by managing sprint closure processes, managing risks and issues, and aligning planned versus actual outcomes
  • Provide regular briefings to Health Analytics management and governance groups as required

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field and relevant industry experience
  • Experience in leading a technical team using agile methods
  • (Desirable) Project/Program Management certification such as MSP, Prince2, PMBoK
  • (Desirable) Experience with EMR data, EMR reporting and EMR integration, preferably Epic
  • Proven track record of delivering successful health informatics and technology programs
