Are you a motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and an enthusiastic, approachable demeanour? If so, we want you to join our busy clinical team at the Population Allergy Clinic!

As a part-time Research Nurse, you will play a crucial role in our clinical trials and research projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting Participant Clinical Assessments:
    • Oral food challenges
    • Skin prick testing
    • Eczema examinations
    • Taking body measurements such as height and weight
    • Conducting diagnostic testing
  • Data Management:
    • Accurately entering all associated data into trial case report forms

You will be based at the Melbourne Children’s Trial Centre, located at The Royal Children’s Hospital.

About your new team

The Population Allergy Clinic team is at the forefront of Paediatric Allergy trials and research projects. Our work focuses on the prevention, intervention, and treatment of food allergies in children.

We are dedicated to improving the lives of children with allergies through cutting-edge research and compassionate care.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Undertakes follow up activities, accordingly, including scheduling of appointments and clinical follow up after food challenges.
  • Ensures study questionnaires are completed by both parents and study participants as applicable
  • Participates in patient recruitment, ethics application processes and adverse event reporting as required
  • Demonstrates the knowledge, attributes and skills consistent with a Research Nurse working within a clinical research scope of practices

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor of Nursing with Applicable Nursing Registration – Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills, with ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Desirable, not essential) Experience in Paediatric and/or Allergy and/or Immunisation Nursing
  • (Desirable) Good Clinical Practice (GCP) accreditation, training will be provided if required
  • (Desirable, not essential) Experience using databases such as REDCAP

Please note given the comprehensive training period and the busy nature of this role, we are unable to approve annual leave during the initial three months.
