About the Role

This is an allrounder position that also supports the Office Manager to deliver on the administration required for a well-functioning office environment. Your day will involve triaging incoming phone calls along with processing print and publication orders with the mail house; coding expenses and entering invoices for accounts payable; booking education sessions; uploading information from the website into our database and managing our info email inbox. We will offer you plenty of opportunity to learn new tasks and grow your potential in this interesting and diverse role.

Who we are looking for

Based in our Sydney CBD office, this role will suit a highly organised individual who is known for exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail. You thrive on variety and are always looking for smarter ways to do things.

You love learning new things but are already competent with the technology that makes most offices run smoothly, like MS Office, customer databases and basic knowledge of accounting software.

You are happy working 9am to 5pm (when our Helpline operates) with opportunities for hybrid work, balancing days in our CBD office with up to two days per week from home.

Selection Criteria

  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role working in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with compassion to handle phone calls with elderly and/or vulnerable people.
  • Experience using accounting software for entering and coding invoices, coding the Team’s credit card expenses and donation receipting when required.
  • Highly organised, able to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities, and able to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Computer competency in all areas is required, with intermediate Excel and experience with using databases for information management being essential.
  • Proactive and motivated with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a small team, including volunteers.
  • Able to work 9am to 5pm to provide first point of call for our Helpline.

Desirable

  • Certificate in business administration or similar.
  • Experience managing a resources library.
  • Experience in the for-purpose sector.
