General Manager Residential Services is a newly created pivotal leadership role integral to our Residential Aged Care Services reporting to the Executive General Manager Residential and Housing Services to ensure optimised performance and best practice implementation. The role is supported by the Regional Manager Residential Services, Quality, Learning and Development and Human Resource teams who assist in championing a continuous improvement program while ensuring the efficient and effective use of all resources. The successful applicant will work alongside the Executive General Manager Residential and Housing Services, leadership team and facility managers to support mecwacare’s residential services in Victoria.

What you bring:

  • Current and ongoing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, willing to complete ACIPC (infection control)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Management in either aged care, hospital, retirement living or residential-based services
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with continuous improvement, change management and risk management systems
  • Highly developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and attend to multiple tasks
  • A commitment to high quality outcomes for residents, employees, and volunteers
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership, guidance, and motivation to teams
  • Proven ability to create partnerships to achieve agreed objectives
  • Current and ongoing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, willing to complete ACIPC (infection control)
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant accreditation, funding, and legislative requirements within the Aged Care Standards

Highly desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in management or business
  • Advanced skills in tender preparation and writing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage service growth and expansion
  • Sound financial management skills
  • Ability to operate autonomously and respond in a timely and systematic fashion
