Base Salary $96,260 to $104,463 per annum (Total remuneration package including superannuation $120,959 to $130,232 per annum)

The Role:

Enter The Diabetes Across the Lifecourse: Northern Australia Partnership commenced in 2011 in the Northern Territory and expanded into Far North Queensland (FNQ) in 2016.

Originally focussed on the establishment of a clinical register and research activities to improve the care and outcomes for women (and their babies) who have had a pregnancy complicated by diabetes, our work has now expanded to include a focus on type 2 diabetes in children and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

This leadership role will undertake engagement and co-design research activities with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait women and communities to reduce diabetes risks before, during, and after pregnancy.

This role is designated for a woman who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and the successful candidate will work within a strong, supportive team.

About you:

As a motivated individual, you will come with a passion for engaging with and mobilising stakeholders, strong project management skills, and experience or ability to undertake research administration tasks.

You also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in a relevant field (e.g. public health); or extensive management experience and proven management expertise in a research or capacity development setting; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  • Demonstrated project management/coordination experience including the capacity to prioritise tasks, time management skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders from varied backgrounds.
