Position Summary

The Engagement Manager, Lived and Living Experience Programs at Mental Health Victoria (MHV) will lead communications and marketing initiatives related to Lived and Living Experience (LLE) projects and initiatives. In addition, this role will support with MHV’s broader communications and marketing plans and strategic initiatives in line with our goals as an organisation.

This role requires a highly skilled professional capable of managing diverse communication and marketing plans and engaging with a variety of stakeholders. The role reports to Executive Director, Service and Program Development at MHV and will work closely with the Department of Health Lived Experience Branch under the direction, and in line with the strategic vision, of MHV.

Position Accountabilities

Stakeholder Engagement and Communications for Lived and Living Experience Programs:

The Engagement Manager, Lived and Living Experience Programs at MHV will be responsible for planning and supporting the execution of communications and marketing activities for a range of initiatives relating particularly to LLE projects. This role reports to MHV and will work closely with the Department of Health and key stakeholders across the mental health sector to enhance the collaboration and efficiency of LLE initiatives.

Activities include (but are not limited to):

  • Development and Implementation of Lived and Living Experience Workforce (LLEW) Communication Plan: Craft and execute a tailored communication and marketing strategy for LLEW projects and events, ensuring alignment with MHV’s broader strategic goals and collaboration with the Department of Health.
  • Event Attendance and Engagement: Actively participate in LLEW-related events on behalf of MHV, promoting LLEW initiatives and ensuring effective communication and marketing exposure that fosters collaboration between LLEW partners, the Department of Health, and MHV, using these platforms to promote shared goals and improve MHV’s visibility in the mental health sector.
  • Marketing Material Development: Generate and distribute content that supports LLEW growth and capacity building across the sector, such as peer support programs and LLEW development opportunities, for both the Department of Health and MHV.
  • Training Promotion: Coordinate with MHV partners to market training opportunities, utilising cutting-edge marketing tactics to enhance reach and impact.
  • Reporting on Marketing and Event Outcomes: Prepare detailed reports on the effectiveness of marketing and engagement strategies, presenting findings to both MHV and the Department of Health, and making recommendations for future initiatives.

Marketing and Communications for MHV:

The Engagement Manager, Lived and Living Experience Programs at MHV will be responsible for developing a marketing and communications plan that support MHV's strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Communications Plan Execution: Implement and monitor a communications plan that aligns with MHV's overall objectives, focusing on stakeholder engagement activities and supporting with policy and advocacy where required.
  • Collaboration with MHV Staff: You will work closely with MHV staff who hold lead responsibility for areas that intersect with the marketing and communications requirements.

This role is central to enhancing the collaboration and impact of MHV’s initiatives in the mental health community, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and fostering significant stakeholder engagement.
