Wellsprings Children and Families Hub – Program Lead Early Years.

We are seeking a Program Lead Early Years Services for the Micah Projects’ Wellsprings Children and Families Hub at Hawthorne. This position will provide a new opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills and knowledge further within a dynamic model of support for children and families. The Program Lead will support a team of 3 child and family practitioners (Educators) in operating our service 3 days per week, alongside offering a supportive playgroup for families (1 day) and outreach support to families engaged with Micah Projects.

This is a permanent full time employment opportunity with conditions and salary at Level 5 of the SCHADS Award.

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor of Early Childhood Education/Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification, with 3-5 years experience.
• Passionate for individual/ child centred curriculum driven programs
• Understanding of Early Years Learning Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, and the National Quality Standards
• Be an inspiring leader and positive advocate for early childhood
• A strong level of communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and the community
• Be flexible, relevant, reflective, and responsive in practice.
• Senior first aid certificate, including CPR certificate and training in the emergency management of anaphylaxis and asthma or willingness to complete

Duties

• Planning, preparation, and delivery of a comprehensive Early Childhood Program that is guided by the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines
• Preparing and reflecting on your teaching environment to meet the needs of children’s development
• Critically reflecting on your own teaching strategies and collaboratively reflecting to meet the needs of the community, children and families.
• Using your creative vision and leadership skills to lead and support our community of families, children, and educators
• Delivering a hands-on approach towards teaching young children that supports their holistic development
• Demonstrated experience documenting observations of children's behaviour and development
• Evidence of sound professional experience that shows initiative and strong sense of personal responsibility for meeting objectives, modelling of professional and ethical behaviour, commitment to personal development; and display or courage in the provision of advice and decision making
