About the role
The Senior Settlement Worker will equip eligible clients (including adults, families, and young people from migrant/refugee background), to address their identified settlement needs in order to improve social participation, economic well-being, independence, personal well-being and community connectedness more broadly.
The Senior Settlement Worker is responsible for the provision of high-quality case management (Low Medium and High intensity casework) and community development initiatives. The position operates within MiCare’s Integrated Family/Client Service.
- Employ a strength-based, client-centred, & trauma-informed approach that promotes self-efficiency and agency.
- Maintain up to date and integrated understanding of mainstream service providers, referral processes, relevant legislation and frameworks.
- Deliver case management services (high, medium and low intensity)
- Meet identified community needs thorough groupwork initiatives
- Ensure quality and safety of service delivery. Contribute to and engage in continuous improvement activities that enhance best practice.
- Maintain data collection, client records, to meet all funding body and legislative requirements. Contribute to financial oversight of program/activities as required.
About you
- Appropriate Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or other relevant human/social sciences and/or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated skills/experience in Casework/Case Management, conducting needs assessments, developing, and reviewing case plans, providing information, referral, advice and case co-ordination.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills including the ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with individuals, communities, and key stakeholders.
- National Police Check, Working With Children Check and must be attained.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Evidence of current flu vaccination and COVID-19.
