The Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing services, also refer to as “Locals”, are a key recommendation from Victoria’s Royal Commission into the mental health service system’s transformation. The Locals will act as the ‘front door’ service to the mental health system and will provide a continuum of care and support, including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support through an integrated mental health and alcohol and other drug framework approach. These services will have a ‘no wrong door’ policy, ensuring accessibility to all individuals seeking support.
We are seeking a self-motivated, resilient Bicultural Worker. In this role you will provide consumers, families, carers and supporters for people with mental health and/or alcohol and other drugs challenges utilising a community language. Burmese, Dari, Nuer, Punjabi, Sinhalese, Tamil, Hindi, Vietnamese and Urdu language skills are highly recommended
Bicultural workers are essential in collaborating with consumers to achieve their wellbeing and recovery goals. Providing support through telehealth, one-on-one interactions, intake and assessment, outreach support, service navigation, care coordination and group facilitation. Their work enhances recovery, personal growth, and daily living activities.
