About the role

The Early Intervention Psychological Support Response Service (EIPSRS) is an outreach service that provides a person-centred approach to recovery tailored to meet individual needs, the focus is on supporting clients to achieve their better life goals. EIPSRS is an individualised tiered outreach program of recovery support of up to 12 months to help client’s live independently and safely in the community.

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Community Mental Health Practitioner - Lead Practitioner for a 12 month fixed term, full or part time opportunity in the Gippsland region. Working from home, you will mentor a team to provide positive support and recovery-orientated mobile services to clients, families and carers consistent with Mind’s My Better Life model. As this position requires travel within the Gippsland region a fully maintained company car is provided.

Key responsibilities

  • Coach a team to deliver high quality outreach services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
  • Support clients to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
  • Provide information and mentoring to a team and clients to establish connections with families and carers, create networks and access to relevant services.
  • Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client’s recovery goals.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Proven capability to implement and guide therapeutic, recovery oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.
  • Ability to effectively lead and develop a team to achieve quality service outcomes and experience in the provision of professional supervision.
