About the role

The Information Services vision is to provide reliable, cost effective and secure technologies and support services that enables Mind’s staff to professionally engage with, and support, our clients. The Information Services function provides Executive and Operational Management with technology strategic direction and investment options that underpin the achievement of the Mind Strategic Plan.

The operational goals of the Information Services function are to professionally engage with all stakeholders, deliver technology platforms and services that are fit for purpose, cost effective and secure as well as achieve agreed service levels. The Information Services staff will always place a priority on teamwork and customer focus when pursuing these objectives. The Information Services function applies good governance methodologies to everything they do.

We are seeking a dynamic, high-performing IT Infrastructure Lead for a permanent, full time opportunity at our Central Office in the Burnley area. You will lead the Information Services Infrastructure function which provides Mind services and staff with the technology infrastructure and support services that are needed to professionally engage with and support our clients. The role will also provide technical leadership and expertise to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the IT infrastructure, aligning to the Mind Strategic Plan while also driving innovation and efficiency through the adoption of emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of the Organisation’s IT infrastructure, leveraging Azure cloud services, Microsoft 365, and other relevant technologies to meet business requirements.
• Design and implement networking solutions, including WAN/SDWAN and LAN/WLAN technologies, to support the organisation’s connectivity requirements across all locations and facilitate seamless data exchange, collaboration and future innovation.
• Oversee the configuration and administration of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams, to enable collaboration and productivity across the Organisation.
• Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity, proactively identifying and addressing issues to maintain optimal system performance and scalability.
• Lead and guide Infrastructure team and external technology professionals to ensure the teams are appropriately skilled for the required function and that teamwork is a key focus.
• Assist in providing Mind Executive and Management with technology through leadership in order to ensure that strategic planning is well informed and that resultant initiatives are managed as a portfolio of investments.
• Ensure security, governance, compliance and continuity of infrastructure technology services. 

What you’ll bring

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology, business or a related field.
• Experience working in the technologies that Mind has invested in with a particular focus on the Microsoft platforms that form the basis of its technology strategic direction.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on Azure cloud, Microsoft 365, and virtualisation.
• Proficiency in backup and patch management tools and processes, such as Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, Veeam, cloud backup technologies or third-party management solutions.
• Strong technical expertise in Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, and Azure Storage.
• Experience in engaging and negotiating with key technology vendors in particular where vendors are providing Mind with core infrastructure and services.
