We have been supporting people living with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 45 years.
We provide practical and motivational support that helps people to develop the skills they need to move on, thrive and improve the quality of their lives. It’s an approach to mental health and wellbeing that looks at the whole person in the context of their daily life. Mind is committed to diversity and social inclusion.
The Supported Independent Living (SIL) service is a long term residential rehabilitation program designed for people aged between 18-64 years living with severe and enduring psychosocial disability which has impacted their ability to live independently in the community. The service works collaboratively with clients providing one-on-one support, shared supports and group activities based on identified strengths and goals to better understand and develop strategies to manage their mental ill health, enhance personal and daily living skills, develop service provider networks, grow social and community connections, strengthen relationships with families and carers, and build confidence and capacity to live safely and independently.
We are seeking an empathic, self-motivated Mental Health Support Worker for a permanent, part time (30.4 hours per week) opportunity to work alongside a caring team 7 day rotating roster, with inactive sleepover shifts in the Brunswick area. You will play an integral role providing positive person-centred, recovery-oriented supports to clients to achieve wellbeing goals, develop capacity and life skills, strengthen social connections, enhance support networks and grow confidence to live independently.
