The Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service (YRRS) is a strengths focused, recovery orientated residential program supporting young people aged between 16-21 years who are recovering from mental ill health for up to 12 months. In a safe, home-like environment, the service provides clients individual and group based support that promotes resilience, interpersonal skills, enhanced social connections, life skills, access to the community and a greater sense of being able to make sound decisions. Young people benefit from sharing their experiences and recovery journeys whilst growing their confidence and skills to live independently in the community.
We are seeking a self-motivated, empathetic Community Mental Health Practitioner - Peer Practitioner for a permanent role, part time (32 hours per week) opportunity to work on a 24/7 rotating roster in the Townsville area. You will utilise your lived experience of mental ill health to deliver person-centred, recovery-oriented care to support young people develop social and community connections, build daily living skills, live independently and achieve recovery goals.
