About the role

The Sub-Acute, short stay Step-Up Step-Down (SUSD) service, is delivered through partnerships with hospital networks whereby clients can access specialist clinical mental health staff 24/7 whilst being supported to enhance connections with family and increase capacity to live in the community. The Adult SUSD provides short term support in a residential setting as an alternative to hospitalisation (step up) or transition from hospital back into the community (step down).

We are seeking a motivated, resilient Service Manager for a permanent, full time opportunity leading and mentoring the SUSD team in the Bundaberg area. You will inspire your team, manage operations and drive high quality, client-centred services consistent with Mind’s Model of Recovery Oriented Practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage services to clients, families and carers in line with Mind’s My Better Life model.
  • Provide leadership to ensure delivery of safe, effective recovery orientated care.
  • Guide a high performing team by engaging staff, setting clear direction and performance expectations.
  • Deliver targeted and integrated case managed responses to clients by holding a reduced caseload.
  • Manage and be accountable for achievement of service performance and budget targets.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with leadership of a mobile workforce desirable.
  • Successful track record in relationship development, management and strategic partnerships.
  • Experience in financial management, budget control and reporting.
