- Salary: $115,645.93 Full Time Salary Package (Non-PBI Equivalent) + Super - includes:
- Base Pay: $106,387.84
- Up to $6,385.95 in tax-savings via our offered charity salary packaging.

- Start Time: We offer flexible start times between 8:00 am - 9:30 am.
- Location: Out office is located at the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda, an exciting purpose built space for LGBTQIA+ community organisations which includes: a raised Tram Stop within 100m from the building entrance, elevators and accessible bathroom, end of trip facilities and dedicated prayer rooms.

Minus18 is Australia’s charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth. We support LGBTQIA+ young people through events and digital platforms, and provide fee for service LGBTQIA+ inclusion training to schools, businesses and community organisations. Since 2011 over 100,000 young people have engaged in these services across Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, and millions more via digital platforms.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Brand Marketing Manager will be an architect of our brand voice, audience strategies and visual identity.
This new role will be responsible for the development and execution of a multichannel brand strategy across platforms evolving our visual and written identity in alignment with our mission. This role will lead our campaign development for key moments of LGBTQIA+ inclusion including IDAHOBIT, Wear it Purple® Day & Trans Awareness Week. They will ensure campaign effectiveness by bringing best practice and innovation, reviewing the performance of our campaigns to ensure optimal growth and reach.
Additionally this role will manage the Marketing Team Lead and in future, Graphic Designer, in ensuring alignment to our priorities, consistency in our brand guidelines and leading the creation of marketing activations to effectively support our programs & partners. We’re looking for a passionate brand visionary to bring our strategy to life in a way that inspires our allies, resonates with LGBTQIA+ young people and inspires our team to continue to champion the lives of LGBTQIA+ young people in Australia.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Strategy:
- Design, implement and optimise a multichannel brand strategy across platforms and audiences to drive our strategic goals
- Define and maintain clear brand guidelines and visual identity ensuring consistency across all departments and teams.
- Ensure brand, design and media processes are well documented and understood across teams at Minus18, providing assistance and advice as required.
- Monitor, analyse and manage brand performance to identify opportunity areas for growth and development.
- Drive annual planning process cross functionally, setting clear KPIs and targets for Brand & Marketing.
- Contribute to the development of our Partnerships guidelines
- Measure and maintain alignment of our mission, storytelling, values, audiences and strategic direction with our visual and written identity.
- Align cross functional teams on strategy, plans and idea generation from conception to execution.
- Implement and maintain media, PR and communications processes to guide timely, effective and consistent messaging by Minus18.
- Provide industry insights and best practices to the General Manager - Brand & Business Development on target audience, marketing opportunities and campaign performance.
Marketing & Brand Operations:
- Be responsible for the day to day operational management of the Marketing & Brand function including leading team planning and regular meetings.
- Lead & develop a team culture of high performance with staff wellbeing being at the forefront.
- Manage and coach your direct reports providing development opportunities and upskilling
- Develop integrated launch strategies ensuring consistency and effective marketing activations
- Oversee Minus18’s brand and marketing materials (print, digital) to ensure quality writing, design, printing, photography, online publication and promotion.
- Oversee eCommerce integration within marketing and brand activations (website, online store etc) to ensure quality photos, copy, design and conversion practices.
- Plan and conceptualise marketing initiatives to build our brand growth on all channels.
- Create and cultivate strong relationships with media, influencers, and journalists to secure positive brand coverage and amplify reach.
- Create and implement strategy and frameworks for brand marketing activations with both internal and external stakeholders
- Support the project and work flows of the Marketing Team, as led by the Marketing Team Lead
Campaigns & Performance:
- Develop & lead clear launch strategies for each campaign and other brand initiatives ensuring they are innovative and effective.
- Conduct regular campaign and perspective based market research ensuring audience segmentation is current and that marketing strategy is evidence based, informed and best practice.
- Lead internal campaign planning, debriefing and meetings across the year
- Manage priority messaging and communications.
- Report and review campaign performance to highlight areas to optimise and improve
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal candidate has:
- Previous experience managing a multi disciplinary marketing or brand team or function.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy in a previous role.
- Proven track record of successful campaign planning and implementation across various channels.
- Demonstrated organisational, project management and administrative skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated lived experience and understanding of diverse identities within the LGBTQIA+ community
- Demonstrated passion for Minus18’s mission to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- A successful Police Background Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC) are required for this role. These can be obtained once an offer of employment is made, and before role commencement.
