Minus18 is Australia’s charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth. Since 2011 over 100,000 young people have engaged in these services across Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, and millions more via digital platforms.
The LGBTQIA+ Education Presenters at Minus18 drive inclusion within the broader community, delivering LGBTQIA+ education workshops and training that are a mix of facilitation, presentation and improvisation. In this role, you’ll be delivering sessions to a variety of audiences, including students, teachers, youth groups, community organisations and corporate environments, making LGBTQIA+ inclusion accessible to everyone in a positive, nonjudgmental space. Some of our recent audiences have included Bonds, Levis, Canva & the National Theatre Melbourne.
Our Workshops have been described as “participating in your favourite podcast”, so even though they are pre-scripted, you’ll think on your feet, react to the audience’s participation and navigate questions with patience and positivity. We’ll also coach you to write and share your personal narrative on LGBTQIA+ identity with openness and vulnerability, inspiring others to connect with the real-world application of the Content.
These sessions are 30 minutes to 3 hours long, delivered digitally via Zoom, and also in-person. They include content such as:
