Your Opportunity

Missionbeat provides support for people experiencing homelessness with a specific focus on the provision of support for rough sleepers. This role provides the opportunity for the successful candidate to collaborate with the Missionbeat Community Liaison Team and other services to provide intense and on-going Outreach Case Management to people experiencing homelessness. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a range of activities including patrols, on street engagement, case management and post housing support.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Seek out and respond to initial engagement as well as referrals from other Specialist Homeless Services and conduct an initial assessment.
• Provide ongoing outreach case management sessions and review progression.
• Assist clients in the process of transition out of the service to independent living.
• Actively participate and engage in interagency meetings/forums for the development of services for Aboriginal people and non-residents experiencing homelessness.
• Create and manage individualised case files and ensure all external paperwork are intact.
• Complete a range of other administrative duties for the efficient running of the service.

Requirements of Success

• Relevant tertiary qualification and experience working in outreach programs
• Excellent communication skills and relationship management skills
• Drivers Licence
• First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
