Your Opportunity

Camperdown Support Services (CSS), managed by Mission Australia, operates at Common Ground Sydney, providing wraparound support to residents. CSS collaborates with Mission Australia Housing and onsite partners to offer individual case management and coordinate essential services for tenants, including 52 people transitioning from long-term homelessness.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential support to clients and colleagues, with a specific emphasis on delivering welfare services tailored to address homelessness and associated challenges.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide regular case management adhering to quality standards.
  • Offer personalized support, involving clients in decision-making.
  • Deliver services in line with best practices, prioritizing a holistic approach.
  • Engage in quality assurance practices with the Program Manager.
  • Conduct intensive case management and provide informal counselling.
  • Manage clients in distress while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Collaborate with the Mission Australia Housing team to promote tenancy sustainment.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders and represent the organization at meetings.
  • Organize case conferences and manage administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports on client statistics and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
  • Respond to incidents and conduct periodic client risk assessments.

Requirements for Success

  • A relevant degree or diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide specialized therapeutic interventions and manage complex caseloads.
  • Experience working with clients dealing with homelessness, poverty, abuse, mental health issues, and substance misuse, with knowledge of available support services.
  • Strong administrative skills, including excellent written and oral communication.
  • Understanding of recovery principles from combined lived experience and professional development, with the ability to positively support others on their recovery journey.
  • Possession of a valid NSW Driver's License and Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Resilience, solution-focused, and creative approach to challenges, with strong professional boundaries.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and time management skills, with a keen ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Motivated towards personal excellence and professional development, with a genuine interest in working for Mission Australia.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
