Your Opportunity

Join our team as the Events Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating unforgettable experiences throughout Western Australia. As the Events Manager, you will spearhead the coordination of both large-scale extravaganzas and intimate gatherings, bringing people together in celebration and support of Mission Australia's mission.

Your primary focus will be on the prestigious annual Christmas Lunch in the Park (CLIP) event, where your creativity and organisational prowess will shine as you lead the planning, execution, and post-event evaluation. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to curate and coordinate various smaller events tailored to our internal stakeholders while extending support to external stakeholders and donors eager to host fundraising events in support of Mission Australia's initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Execute the delivery of Mission Australia's annual Christmas Lunch in the Park (CLIP) event; and deliver other key events/projects
  • Develop and manage budgets; contract management; procure goods and services; compliance and risk management
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising Team to devise and execute plans for attracting sponsors, donors, and funders ; and undertake marketing, promotion and media activities
  • Management of our Volunteer coordination for WA events
  • Manage and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and individuals, leveraging effective communication and teamwork to achieve successful event outcomes
  • Effectively manage procurement of goods and services in line with MA policy and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative/regulatory requirements related to events management; including that subcontractors are compliant and have appropriate insurances
  • Undertake media activities (as requested by MA's Media Team) to promote CLIP (e.g. radio and television appearances, provision of information for print media)

Requirements for Success

  • Diploma in Project Management or Event Management and a minimum of five years' experience in end-to-end event management, including sponsorship management and coordination
  • Experience developing and maintaining positive and successful internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong problem solving and strategic thinking ability

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
