Your Opportunity

Mission Australia Housing (MAH) is an established and progressive, Tier One National Community Housing provider of social and affordable housing and also provides both tenancy and asset management services for a number of third-party organisations and private investors.

We seek to offer a pathway away from homelessness by providing good-quality housing that enables people to participate in their communities.

Mission Australia Housing is looking for a highly skilled Team Leader to successfully support the delivery of application and tenancy management services across Greater Western Sydney and within the Inner Sydney area, at Mission Australia Housing’s Flagship Common Ground complex.

Position Responsibilities 

As the Team Leader for Tenancy Services, you will be responsible in ensuring the delivery of a wide range of tenancy and property management services to clients from various backgrounds including clients with high complex needs.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead a team of Housing Officers and a Senior Support Officer to meet the needs of their tenants and the KPI expectations of their role.
  • Manage property and tenancy activities across the Sydney region
  • Support with escalations and complex issues where required
  • Support and monitor resources and budget obligations
  • Develop good working relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Utilise a variety of databases and IT systems for the purpose of reporting and records management
  • Ensure that appropriate training and development opportunities are available to your team
  • Provide regular input and advice in relation to the development of service delivery plans
  • Prepare high-level projects documents, business case proposals, reports and submissions for senior management
  • Maintain MAH data and records in a quality manner to facilitate planning, quality management and reporting 
  • Represent MAH at NCAT Tribunal hearing when necessary

This pivotal position will also provide guidance, support, collaboration and cooperation to the asset, community development, services and stakeholder engagement teams of Mission Australia and Mission Australia Housing as well as external stakeholders including Local and State Government.

Requirements for Success

  • Previous exposure/experience as a team leader in public/community housing
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with effective time management capabilities
  • Track record of success in your ability to deliver positive client outcomes and sustain social housing tenancies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels
  • The ability to build networks within the social housing sector
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Excel reporting and presentation skills
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate or happy to obtain one 
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
