Your Opportunity

Our WHS team has an opportunity for you to join us as a Work Health & Safety Business Partner.

In this role, you will work closely with the WHS & Wellbeing Team Leader delivery high standard WHS services tour services across Australia. You will work to spot trends in workplace health and safety and assist with creating and implementing effective strategies and risk management processes. This role will see you collaborate with and influence managers and other key partners and staff across the organisation. Your efforts will drive the Mission Australia WHS system across various locations nationwide, fostering a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Support MA business units to continuously improvement safety performance through identifying and implementing practical solutions
  • Contribute to the identification of corrective actions arising from incidents, risk management and compliance assurance activities
  • Review online incident reporting and work with sites to ensure report quality meets required compliance standards
  • Drive early intervention and reporting of safety hazards and incidents
  • Provide expert guidance to identify and implement effective risk controls and guide the implementation of those controls
  • Interpret and practically apply WHS legislation, codes of practice and industry standards across multiple states
  • Partner with and coach internal stakeholders in how to engage their teams in such a way that it positively impacts on the creation of a culture that supports WHS
  • Develop and facilitate WHS training and education programs on procedures and systems in safety
  • Conduct health & safety audits and inspections, identify potential hazards/ risks and report to the WHS & Wellbeing Team Leader

Requirements for Success

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS
  • 5 years' experience in a WHS role (minimum) preferably in a multi-jurisdictional capacity
  • Root Casuse Analysis, icam or CAMS experience is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to engage and work collaboratively, and influence key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and an ability to be adaptive in your communication
  • Current valid drivers licence
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment would be desirable

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
