About the role:

As the Youth Focused IAP (Initial Assessment Planning) Worker you will be providing an early intervention response to young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and are presenting at an entry point. You will provide an initial assessment and planning (IAP) response, emergency accommodation assistance, advice, and referrals for additional support and housing options. A key part of the role is managing the youth prioritisation list and referring young people to vacancies in youth refuges, THMs, and other youth specific support services.

You would also be working in the community with the local entry points to develop and enhance appropriate services for young people and their families, and for developing partnerships with other youth service providers.

Location

The Youth Focused IAP position co-locates within a range of sites including:

  • MOIRA Office, 42 Lakeview Drive, Scoresby
  • Launch Housing, 122 Chapel Street, St Kilda
  • Headspace 973 Nepean Highway, Bentleigh
  • Frankston

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Tertiary qualification or diploma in youth work, counselling, community services or other relevant discipline (or working towards this qualification).
  • Direct experience in the delivery of services to young people.
  • Experience working with complex behaviours would be highly regarded.
  • Experience working within the housing and homelessness sector would be highly regarded.
